AI Deployment Engineer, Codex | Sydney

This role focuses on helping enterprise customers adopt OpenAI's coding tools (Codex) by acting as a technical partner. The engineer will design, validate, and scale AI workflows, build demos and integrations, and provide technical enablement. The role involves deep customer engagement, influencing product direction, and contributing to technical content.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as the primary technical subject matter expert on OpenAI Codex for a portfolio of customers, embedding deeply with them to enable their engineering teams and build coding workflows.
  2. Partner directly with customers to design and implement AI-enhanced development workflows, from rapid prototyping through scalable production rollout.
  3. Build high-quality demos, reference implementations, and workflow automations, using Codex itself as part of your development process.
  4. Lead large-format workshops, technical deep dives, and hands-on enablement sessions that help engineering organizations adopt AI coding tools effectively and safely.
  5. Contribute technical content including examples, guides, patterns, and best practices to the OpenAI Cookbook to help the broader developer community accelerate their work with Codex.

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years of post-sales engineering or solutions architecture experience
  • 2+ years of software engineering experience
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle
  • Experience designing and implementing AI-enhanced development workflows
  • Experience building demos, integrations, and prototypes
  • Experience delivering technical workshops and training
  • Experience contributing technical content publicly
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly
