This role is for a Financial Controller at LangChain, a company focused on making intelligent agents ubiquitous. The Controller will lead accounting and financial reporting, manage the close process, oversee AP/AR/payroll/equity, build internal controls, and partner with Finance on budgeting and forecasting. The role requires 10+ years of accounting experience, a CPA, and experience in high-growth SaaS companies. It is an in-office position in San Francisco or New York.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process — on time and with accuracy
  2. Lead our first audit and manage relationships with auditors and tax advisors
  3. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and equity administration
  4. Build and maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  5. Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  6. Drive improvements to our financial systems and processes as we scale

Skills

Required

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • at least 2 years in a Controller role
  • CPA required
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Experience in high-growth SaaS or technology companies
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting systems
  • Track record of building or improving close processes and internal controls
  • Comfortable working across functions and communicating financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders

Nice to have

  • experience supporting a Series B–D company through an audit or preparing for one
