This role is for a Data Center Technician responsible for maintaining the availability, reliability, and performance of data center environments. The technician will perform hardware and network diagnostics, physical repair, and support of mission-critical infrastructure. Responsibilities include training internal teams, developing documentation, providing technical support, developing scripts for hardware updates, maintaining inventory, assembling and installing equipment, and performing maintenance on test equipment. The role requires experience with computer hardware, Linux, data center environments, and networking, as well as proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash. On-call rotation is expected.

Skills

Required

  • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and assembly
  • Experience working with Linux operating systems
  • Ability to regularly transport and position equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing diagnostic and repair tasks
  • Ability to maneuver in cramped or elevated spaces, including under-floor areas or on ladders, to access server racks
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills, including handling small hardware components and cables
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule within a 24/7 environment, including participation in a rotating on-call shift
  • Experience in data center environments
  • Experience with computer networking
  • Experience with Python, Bash, or other scripting languages
  • Experience with Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOS
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related field
