This role is for a Data Center Technician responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining data center hardware, including servers, network equipment, and cabling. It requires experience with Linux, computer hardware, and networking best practices in a production data center environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform hardware installation, configuration, and testing of data center equipment
  2. Perform server and network upgrades within a production data center.
  3. Run fiber optic and copper cabling to support growing infrastructure.
  4. Maintain proper cable documentation and cable management standards
  5. Conduct Server configuration & Layer 2 Network configuration.

Skills

Required

  • 4+ years experience supporting Production Data Centers
  • Comfortable using a command line interface
  • Hands-on experience installing fiber optic cabling
  • Basic understanding of power cabling and PDUs
  • Familiarity with Linux and other network operating systems
  • Familiar with server, storage, network technologies
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lb
  • Ability to express good judgment to take action & move forward
  • Ability to work collaboratively with both local and remote teams
  • Must be able to work on-site in Santa Clara, CA

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting a large scale Production Data Center
  • Knowledge with routing systems such as Cisco, Linux, Arista
  • Industry certifications a plus (e.g. CCNA, CompTIA+, Linux, etc.)
  • Familiarity with a scripting language such as Bash, Python, GoLang
  • Comfortable using a command line interface
