Manager for Data Science & Analytics within Boeing's Supply Chain Functional Excellence organization, focusing on AI & Automation or Reporting & Analytics. Will lead a team of data analysts, scientists, and programmers to deploy supply chain solutions, translate business needs into structured frameworks, champion a data-first culture, and partner with stakeholders to build scalable data solutions and uncover insights. Requires experience in leadership, executive presentations, SQL/Python/R, and BI/visualization tools. Familiarity with cloud environments, ML/AI model deployment, and aerospace/supply chain domain knowledge is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage employees performing data science and analytics.
  2. Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  3. Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  4. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  5. Provides vision, oversight, and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

Skills

Required

  • at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • 5+ years of experience in developing and delivering presentations to executive leadership with strong proficiency.
  • 5+ years of experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL and programming languages such as Python or R.
  • 5+ years hands-on experience with BI and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Looker).
  • Strong communication skills with a proven track record of translating complex data insights into actionable business strategies for non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • 5 + years of experience leading teams in data analytics or data science, with at least 1-2 years in a management or team-lead role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Familiarity with cloud data environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and distributed computing tools (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
  • Experience building and deploying machine learning and AI models in a production environment.
  • Specific domain knowledge relevant to the aerospace industry and supply chain
  • Strong critical thinking, time management, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
