They are seeking a Director of Technical Accounting & Reporting to lead complex accounting initiatives, support scalable growth, and strengthen financial reporting infrastructure. This role requires a technically strong accounting leader who thrives in dynamic environments and can influence cross-functional stakeholders.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as the company’s subject matter expert on technical accounting matters, providing proactive guidance on complex transactions, new business initiatives, and evolving accounting standards.
  2. Lead the research, evaluation, and documentation of technical accounting conclusions under US GAAP, including preparation of clear and concise technical accounting memos.
  3. Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Finance, Legal, Corporate Development, FP&A, Tax, and external auditors to assess accounting implications of strategic transactions and operational changes.
  4. Support the company’s financial reporting and disclosure requirements, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and international Statutory financial reporting, SEC regulations, and internal control standards.
  5. Drive accounting assessments related to strategic initiatives, commercial arrangements, acquisitions, financing transactions, and other non-routine activities.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Active CPA license or equivalent professional certification
  • 12+ years of combined public accounting and/or industry experience
  • 6+ years of deep technical accounting experience with strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
  • Proven ability to independently research, analyze, and document complex accounting issues
  • 4+ years of progressive leadership experience
  • Strong executive presence
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts
  • Experience operating in a SOX-compliant environment

Nice to have

  • Big 4 public accounting experience
  • Deep expertise in revenue recognition (ASC 606), business combinations, consolidation, leases, derivatives, equity transactions, and SaaS-related accounting matters
  • Experience supporting M&A transactions
  • Background partnering across global organizations
  • Prior experience in a high-growth SaaS, AI, or cloud technology company
