Field Operations Manager

This role manages the day-to-day operations of a field crew responsible for maintaining and installing Verizon's Network. The manager will coach, motivate, and support their team's professional development, lead union-represented employees, and promote outstanding customer service in a safe working environment. Responsibilities include managing multiple tasks, prioritizing based on changing environments, conducting performance appraisals, supporting network installation/maintenance, evaluating data trends to solve customer service or network issues, interacting with customers, managing mandatory training, maintaining administrative records, and resolving grievances. The role requires a Bachelor's degree or four years of work experience, four years of relevant experience, experience managing cross-functional teams, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel and work extended hours.

What you'd actually do

  1. Training, coaching, and counseling direct reports through observing employee quality and safety performance.
  2. Engaging with employees to manage, evaluate and meet team performance and business metrics.
  3. Conducting employee performance appraisals and communicating feedback effectively.
  4. Supporting the installation, maintenance, and construction of network services.
  5. Evaluating trends in data and identifies the root cause of issues to develop solutions to customer service or network issues.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience
  • Four or more years of relevant experience
  • Experience in managing and leading cross functional teams
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time
  • Willingness to work extended hours when necessary, including weekends, holidays, after hours and on call as required for the needs of the business
