Field Technician – Southern / Central New York State

Field Technician role at T-Mobile supporting Engineering & Operations in Southern / Central New York State. Responsibilities include troubleshooting network performance, supporting outage resolution and projects, recommending process improvements, and staying current with technologies. Requires basic knowledge of telecommunications systems, troubleshooting skills, and ability to work independently. Experience with Ericsson and/or Nokia RAN equipment is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Troubleshoot network performance issues, support outage resolution, and identify opportunities for operational improvement
  2. Execute and support key projects, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and communication
  3. Recommend process improvements and assist in developing documentation, job aids, and procedures
  4. Stay current with evolving technologies, systems, and company standards

Skills

Required

  • Basic knowledge of electronics and telecommunications systems (RF, fiber, microwave, power systems)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard computer applications
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation
  • Ability to lift 50–70 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
