Firmware Applications Eng.

AMD AMD · Semiconductors · Dublin, Ireland · Engineering

Develop firmware and software solutions for lab automation, remote control, and orchestration of lab bench instrumentation for AMD's Analog Mixed Signal team, focusing on RF data converters.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop integration of RF data converters firmware following product features and targeted capabilities, close application guidance, and drive technical specifications for RF SoC to meet those requirements, and provide technical direction to execution teams
  2. Develop firmware and low-level software to remotely control lab bench equipment, including configuration, execution, and data capture.
  3. Perform hands-on lab bring‑up, debugging, and automation, integrating firmware with physical instrumentation and test setups.
  4. Comprehend the SOC as a complete system which includes HW (Silicon), FW, BIOS & SW and ensure that FW, BIOS & SW are aligned to enable all features, optimizing for targeted performance and power
  5. Work cross functionally with IP/Domain architects to identify and assess complex technical issues/risks and develop architectural solutions to achieve product requirements
