Workday is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Platform Consumption Console (PCC) team. This role will focus on building the user-facing and platform experiences that increase trust in AI agents, integrating AI-driven capabilities into HR and Finance workflows. The engineer will work on critical infrastructure for a consumption-based pricing model, handling data ingestion, billing calculations, and customer-facing controls for products like Workday Agents. The role involves both front-end and back-end development within a cloud environment (AWS), with a focus on large-scale data processing and enterprise impact.

What you'd actually do

  1. design and ship full stack solutions—from intuitive front-end experiences to resilient backend services that integrate AI-driven capabilities deeply into HR and Finance workflows.
  2. orchestrating the ingestion of massive daily usage metrics and ensuring zero-defect financial ledgers
  3. building intuitive, high-visibility dashboards for our enterprise customers.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years experience in software development engineering including designing, developing, and deploying software solutions
  • 2+ years experience with a web development framework (Python or Java strongly preferred)
  • 2+ years experience with Backend development or Data Engineering, particularly within a cloud environment (AWS)
  • Algorithmic Thinking, including distributed data processing and memory management
  • API Development, including RESTful principles and AWS API Gateway integration
  • Code Testing methodologies, such as unit testing for data pipelines and integration testing
  • Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles like SOLID and modularity
  • Software Development principles and proficiency in Python
  • Infrastructure as Code (specifically CloudFormation or AWS CDK)
  • Source Control Management (SCM) tools such as Git and branching strategies like Trunk-Based Development
  • Team Collaboration within a software development team, including active participation in code reviews and architectural whiteboarding
  • Technical Writing Documentation for state machine logic flows, ETL schemas, and deployment playbooks
