General Manager for Joby Aviation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, responsible for building the business from the ground up, establishing relationships, operating model, and strategy for launching a safe, compliant, and scalable service. This includes driving government engagement, developing strategic partnerships, leading deal execution, and representing the company locally.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build the Business Foundation: Lay the foundation for the future KSA market for Joby
  2. Policy and Partnerships: In partnership with Joby’s senior leadership team, identify, build, and maintain strong relationships with local government entities, municipalities, and strategic partners to build trust and credibility, thereby strengthening Joby’s position in the KSA
  3. Corporate and Business Development: Source, evaluate, and execute M&A, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships. Lead cross-functional due diligence and manage deal execution from start to finish in the KSA
  4. Drive Strategic Execution: Implement a vision and multi-year business strategy that balances execution across aircraft sales, business development, corporate development, government relations, OEM, manufacturing, and operations
  5. Develop Market Awareness: stay apprised of local trends, business opportunities, infrastructure opportunities, consumer mobility preferences, etc., within the KSA, and build action plans to exploit opportunities for Joby

Skills

Required

  • 10+ years of experience in M&A, Corporate Development, Program Management, Business Development, Government Relations, and/or Strategy
  • 10+ years of leadership experience, with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Highly strategic thinker with strong business acumen and structured problem-solving skills demonstrated through delivery of large complex projects/programs
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to influence at all levels,inspire teams, collaborate cross-functionally, and represent the organization with external stakeholders
  • An entrepreneurial mindset is suited for launching and scaling a new entity
  • Exceptional ability to build and execute on a growth strategy
  • Extensive professional network within the KSA and the Middle East, and proven ability to develop and maintain relationships
  • Fluent in English and Arabic, both written and verbal communication

Nice to have

  • MBA or advanced degree in a relevant industry
  • Strong policy exposure and knowledge of regulatory frameworks (GACA, FAA, EASA)
  • Proven track record of P&L management
  • Experience in the aviation or aerospace industry
  • Previously launched and scaled a business or business unit
  • Broad business experience in the Middle East
  • Experienced in government and military relations and operations
