Global Supply Manager, Vehicle Platforms

Lyft Lyft · Consumer · New York, NY +1 · LUS Supply Chain

Lyft is seeking a Global Supply Manager for their micromobility division, focusing on vehicle platforms (Next Generation Platforms, E-Bikes, Pedal Bikes, and Scooters). This senior role involves end-to-end direct materials supply chain management, including sourcing strategies, supplier relationship management, cost optimization, and ensuring supply continuity. The position requires collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Legal teams, and involves managing global manufacturing partners, particularly in APAC. Responsibilities include leading sourcing events, negotiations, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration throughout the product lifecycle from NPI to EOL.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and own comprehensive sourcing strategies for direct materials across Next Generation Platforms, E-Bikes, Pedal Bikes, and Scooters, with focus on FATP & Key Technologies and Commodities
  2. Lead strategic supplier relationship management (SRM) programs including scorecards, business reviews, and performance KPIs to drive continuous improvement in quality, delivery, and cost
  3. Manage the supplier base through the full product lifecycle — NPI through EOL — ensuring adequate capacity, qualification, and supply continuity
  4. Lead end-to-end sourcing events including market analysis, RFx development, supplier evaluation, and commercial negotiation for complex direct materials contracts
  5. Proactively identify and escalate supply risks — including line-down risks, LLT shortages, and geopolitical/logistics disruptions — with mitigation plans

Skills

Required

  • 7+ years of experience in direct materials procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management in a hardware-intensive environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing physical product categories — preferably consumer electronics, bicycles, e-mobility, robotics, or adjacent hardware platforms
  • Deep knowledge of APAC supplier ecosystems and manufacturing processes (FATP, SMT, mechanical assembly, battery pack assembly)
  • Proven track record of leading complex commercial negotiations with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers
  • Strong command of BOM cost structures, should-cost modeling, and cost reduction methodologies
  • Experience managing cross-functional programs through NPI, DVT/PVT, and MP phases
  • Proficiency with procurement and supply chain tools (e.g., Oracle, Zip, MRP/ERP systems) and Google Workspace
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field

Nice to have

  • Experience with micromobility, e-bike, or last-mile vehicle platforms
  • Familiarity with battery supply chains (cells, BMS, pack integration) and associated regulatory considerations
  • Relevant certifications such as CSCP, CPM, or CPSM
  • Experience supporting hardware companies through rapid scaling or supply base restructuring
