Lighting Artist / Technical Director for immersive experiences in VR, AR, and location-based platforms. Responsible for designing and implementing lighting setups and pipelines, working with art directors and development teams to achieve desired aesthetics and performance. Requires experience in AAA game development or animation/VFX/film, strong technical knowledge of real-time lighting tools, and proficiency in game engines like Unreal/Unity.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work with Art Directors, Lighting Leads and Concept Artwork to design lighting setups for environments, characters and interactive game assets.
  2. Have a deep understanding of lightmap baking, dynamic lighting tools, image based specular lighting, indirect light probes, post-process volumes and real-time rendering
  3. Work with environment, character and VFX artists in the lighting design to achieve the desired targets for aesthetics and performance through material shader and geometry work
  4. Partner with level designers to animate via level blueprint or sequencer dynamic lighting or transitions
  5. Actively participate in improving workflows, optimizations and best practices

Skills

Required

  • Lighting TD/Artist experience in AAA game development or animation/vfx/film
  • Aesthetic sense for lighting and color theory
