Maintenance Planner

This role is for a Production Maintenance Planner at Merck, a biopharmaceutical company. The planner will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating maintenance activities for production equipment, ensuring compliance with procedures and safety standards. Key responsibilities include planning preventative and corrective maintenance, managing work orders, collaborating with various teams, and maintaining CMMS records. The role requires experience in a regulated industry and strong organizational and communication skills.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead best in class planning and scheduling for Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) works on production equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant procedures and due dates.
  2. Correctly identify, prioritise, schedule and resource all maintenance-related works. Ability to proficiently communicate with numerous stakeholders, co-ordinate with wider teams and escalate appropriately.
  3. Maintain long, medium and short range look ahead plans and review weekly KPI reports for the team and report at Tier 1.
  4. Prepare Engineering Technicians work schedules, completing lookaheads and ensuring batch operations are supported and equipment downtime is reviewed.
  5. Complete periodic reviews and other compliance documentation aligned with the site Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Skills

Required

  • 3rd level qualification in Engineering, technical discipline, or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on competing priorities in a dynamic environment with a problem-solving mentality.
  • Experience with CMMS (SAP PM/ equivalent).
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, focus on meeting and tracking schedules, and embrace an interdependent work culture.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and maintenance practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, excellent communicator and know when to escalate issues for resolution.
