Manager, Software Engineering - Growth Platform

Figma Figma · Enterprise · Canada +1 · Engineering

Engineering Manager for Figma's Growth Platform, focusing on building capabilities for growth experiments and leveraging AI for scaling quality and speed. The role involves leading a team, defining platform vision, and partnering across departments.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build and lead the team: Hire the initial engineers for the Growth Platform’s first team. Set the team’s culture, operating rhythm, and engineering standards. Mentor engineers, create career growth opportunities, and help scale the organization as scope expands
  2. Build capabilities that unlock new experiments: This isn’t about building an experimentation platform—it’s about building the product capabilities (personalized messaging, self-service publishing, cross-system integrations) that make it dramatically easier for teams across Figma to run growth experiments without engineering bottlenecks
  3. Leverage AI to scale quality and speed: Explore and integrate AI-driven approaches—for brand consistency checks, visual quality validation, copy generation, and experiment governance—that allow experiment volume to grow without proportional growth in manual review
  4. Provide hands-on technical leadership: Guide architecture decisions, review system designs, and make build-vs-integrate choices
  5. Partner across the company: collaborate with Marketing to align on cross-channel messaging, partner with growth teams to identify platform capability needs, and work with product teams to ensure growth messaging improves rather than detracts from the end-user experience

  • Background in personalization systems, recommendation engines, or ML-driven content selection
  • Experience integrating with customer data platforms, marketing automation systems, or building user attribute services from product usage data
  • Familiarity with using AI for quality assurance, brand consistency, or content governance at scale
