Boeing is seeking an Associate-level Engineer for their Materials & Process Technology team in St. Louis. The role involves managing capital equipment projects from conception to production implementation, focusing on automation, robotics, composites, and aircraft fabrication processes. Responsibilities include defining requirements, drafting specifications, evaluating emerging technologies, developing and qualifying new tools/equipment/materials, conducting analysis, implementing corrective actions, developing computer systems, and using project management tools. A Bachelor's degree in a technical field and some related experience are required, with experience in manufacturing and composite materials being preferred. The role requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Assists with definition of requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and/or maintenance of Boeing products
  2. Drafts engineering specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes
  3. Assists in evaluation of emerging technologies for potential application to business needs
  4. Assists with development and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes to meet requirements. Performs routine tests and audits to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements
  5. Conducts routine analysis to determine performance or reasons for failures of tools, materials, parts or processes

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 2+ years related work experience or equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance

Nice to have

  • Experience in manufacturing or manufacturing support environment
  • Experience with carbon fiber composite materials and fabrication processes
