This role focuses on the acquisition of land for data center development, managing the entire lifecycle from sourcing to closing. It involves evaluating sites, structuring deals, and coordinating with various teams like Legal, Finance, and Engineering. The role requires extensive experience in land acquisition, real estate development, and understanding of infrastructure, particularly power and utilities, within the Americas market.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the identification, evaluation, and acquisition of powered land, powered shell, and data center campus sites across the Americas, prioritizing regions, site typologies, and acquisition structures (purchase, ground lease, option) aligned to the development pipeline.
  2. Structure and execute land purchase agreements, ground leases, and option agreements; manage broker networks and direct landowner outreach to source off-market and on-market opportunities.
  3. Coordinate with the Due Diligence Team for site, technical, and commercial evaluation of all acquisition targets, ensuring thorough evaluation before any commitment.
  4. Conduct site feasibility assessments covering zoning, entitlements, utility infrastructure (transmission capacity, substations), flood/seismic risk, and development potential.
  5. Lead transaction due diligence in coordination with Legal, Finance, Engineering, and Energy teams -evaluating technical, commercial, and legal risks for each site.
