This role is for a Principal Technical Product Manager at AT&T, focusing on defining technical product vision, shaping customer and business needs into roadmaps, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver software solutions. The role involves managing backlogs, trade-offs, timelines, and dependencies, translating needs into requirements, and operating within Agile ceremonies. While the company is in the communications and technology sector, the core responsibilities are product management for software solutions, not direct AI/ML model development or research.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own a prioritized product domain, aligning strategy and execution across Product, Architecture, Engineering, and business partners
  2. Define product vision, strategy, and success metrics informed by customer needs, market trends, and competitive insights
  3. Build and maintain a clear roadmap; continuously prioritize based on impact, effort, risk, and dependencies
  4. Lead end-to-end delivery by managing backlogs, trade-offs, timelines, and cross-team dependencies
  5. An executive‑ready product leader who effectively engages executive leadership, communicates strategy clearly, and drives resolution of complex problems.

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years of product management experience delivering software products (platforms, APIs, or complex internal systems preferred)
  • Strong technical fluency: able to collaborate deeply with Engineers/Architects and make informed trade-offs
  • Proven ability to own a product domain and drive strategy, roadmap, and execution with minimal oversight
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives across multiple teams or product lines
  • Expertise writing high-quality epics/features/user stories and defining measurable outcomes (KPIs/OKRs)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including influencing senior leaders and aligning competing priorities
  • Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and backlog management in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have

  • MS/MA in Computer Science (or similar) preferred
  • relevant certifications a plus/required in some areas
