What you'd actually do

  1. Work with the Medical Unit Executive Producer to identify, recruit, onboard, mentor, and supervise resident physicians contributing to ABC News coverage
  2. Pitch, research, and develop original health and medical stories for broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms.
  3. Produce and create compelling content, translating complex medical reporting into clear, engaging, audience-friendly storytelling.
  4. Partner closely with correspondents, producers, and editorial leaders to strengthen breaking news and enterprise reporting with medical expertise and context.
  5. Conduct deep background research, fact-checking, sourcing, and document review across medical, scientific, and public health topics.
