Product Designer, Internal Tools

Stripe Stripe · Fintech · United States · 8811 Product Design

Product Designer for Stripe's internal tools, focusing on Developer Productivity and Collaboration. This role involves end-to-end design ownership, partnering with engineering and PMs, conducting lightweight research, and contributing to a consistent design language. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience designing tools for complex or data-heavy workflows, is proficient in Figma, and is a strong systems thinker.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own end-to-end design for a portfolio of internal tools: from discovery and problem framing through interaction design, prototyping, and implementation support.
  2. Partner with engineering and product managers to define product requirements and translate them into clear, usable, and well-considered design solutions.
  3. Conduct lightweight research and usability sessions with internal users to validate decisions and surface unmet needs.
  4. Contribute to a consistent design language across our internal tools suite, working in close coordination with the Sail Design team and Stripe's design system.
  5. Make design trade-offs confidently, knowing when to go deep on craft and when to ship a pragmatic solution that moves the product forward.
