Project Manager, Contested Logistics Sme

Project Manager with expertise in contested logistics for Deloitte's Government & Public Services practice. What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as the principal subject matter expert and advisor to the Project Lead and government stakeholders on all facets of contested logistics.
  2. Provide authoritative guidance throughout the project lifecycle, from shaping data calls and analysis to reviewing the final packaging of recommendations for senior leader decision forums.
  3. Serve as a senior subject matter mentor to the Policy Analyst and other team members, ensuring their work is analytically sound, strategically aligned, and doctrinally correct.
  4. Synthesize diverse inputs (e.g., JLB data, wargames, OPLANs, studies) to provide a unified strategic narrative and inform the project's direction.
  5. Act as the senior subject matter expert within Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) and working groups, guiding discussions, validating analytical approaches, and building consensus around findings.

  • 8+ years' experience analyzing manufacturing systems, supplier networks, capacity constraints, or industrial ecosystem health
  • 2+ years experience with defense acquisition, production, sustainment, and/or logistics environments.
  • 2+ years experience briefing technical findings to non-technical stakeholders and producing clear written products to government officials
  • 2+ years experience with enterprise systems and databases for analysis, such as EBS, IBMS, PIEE, SPRS or Web Flis
  • Willingness to work on-site in Alexandria, VA up to 5 days/week (typical week 2–3 days on-site).

Nice to have

  • Experience building or supporting dashboards/metrics for operational or executive audiences.
  • Experience supporting formal tasking workflows (e.g., suspense management, coordination, quality control, audit-ready documentation).
  • Experience working directly with military services and stakeholders in advisory or planning capacity.
