Revenue Accounting Manager

This role is for a Revenue Accounting Manager at an AI Customer Service company. The primary focus is on building and scaling the revenue accounting function, ensuring accurate and efficient operations, and driving process improvements. The role involves leading month-end close processes, standardizing reconciliations, performing variance analyses, ensuring ASC 606 compliance, and supporting systems implementations. A key aspect is leveraging AI-powered tools and automation to modernize workflows and reduce manual effort, although the role itself is not directly building AI models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead key components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  2. Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing revenue accounting team, bringing a strong passion for people management, coaching, and creating an environment where individuals can thrive.
  3. Own and standardize reconciliations for revenue-related accounts, including deferred revenue, unbilled AR, and related balance sheet accounts.
  4. Perform and enhance flux and variance analyses for revenue and related accounts, identifying key drivers and explaining business trends.
  5. Partner cross-functionally with Revenue Operations, Billing, Deal Desk, and GTM teams to ensure accurate and scalable revenue processes.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong focus on revenue accounting (SaaS/Usage experience preferred).
  • Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition principles.
  • Strong experience leading or supporting month-end close processes, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Experience with NetSuite, including NetSuite ARM (Advanced Revenue Management) as a revenue accounting engine.
  • Demonstrated ability to standardize processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Interest in and experience leveraging automation and AI tools to enhance accounting workflows.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders across Finance, GTM, and Systems teams.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and a proactive, “build and improve” mindset.

Nice to have

  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Stripe, Salesforce (SFDC), and Snowflake is a strong plus.
