What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and manage the interactive process for complex and sensitive accommodation requests from employees, including those related to disabilities, medical conditions, religious beliefs, and other protected characteristics.
  2. Conduct thorough intake interviews, gather necessary medical documentation, and engage in direct communication with employees, managers, and healthcare providers (with appropriate consent).
  3. Assess individual needs, job functions, and workplace barriers to identify potential reasonable accommodations.
  4. Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g., HR Business Partners, Legal, Facilities, IT, Payroll) and external vendors to facilitate the implementation of approved accommodations.
  5. Maintain accurate, confidential, and comprehensive case documentation, including communications, medical information, interactive process notes, and accommodation decisions, in compliance with privacy regulations.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in accommodation administration.
  • Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, state leave laws, and disability programs.
  • Experience with HRIS and accommodation management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Nice to have

  • CLMS or CPDM certification
