Senior Cloud Engineer responsible for architecting, developing, deploying, and maintaining cloud environments for DoD product software development, focusing on AWS, Azure, or GCP. Requires experience with Linux systems, network layer cloud technologies, infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation), automation tools (Ansible), and programming in languages like Java, Python, Go, or C++. Preferred qualifications include experience with security and monitoring cloud technologies, CI/CD processes, and understanding of security frameworks like DoD RMF, CMMC, DFARS, and FedRAMP.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, development, deployment, and maintenance of cloud environments to support product software development
  2. Responsible for time-phased Roadmap Development for F18 Mission System’s transition to the cloud
  3. Collaborating closely with our IT and cybersecurity colleagues to ensure cost-effective, timely, and secure deployment of the environment and its tools
  4. Interfacing with development groups across the F/A-18 & EA-18G program in the planning and deployment of software factories and other toolchains and components
  5. Ensure consistent DevSecOps deployments into cloud environments

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years’ experience working with and supporting Linux systems
  • Experience designing cloud architectures in AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience with network layer cloud technologies
  • Experience writing infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible
  • Strong programming skills in at least one high-level language such as Java, Python, Go, or C++

Nice to have

  • Experience with security and monitoring cloud technologies such as IAM, GuardDuty, or Security Hub (or equivalent)
  • Experience in software development, systems engineering, or integration and test experience with mission systems on tactical platforms
  • Strong Working knowledge of the CI/CD process including debugging, test, and integration of software tools
  • Strong communication skills and a self-starter that can thrive in a fast paced, agile work environment
  • Understanding of designing and implementing full stack/microservice infrastructure
  • Understanding of secure software development methodologies and Security First mindset
  • Understanding of security frameworks such as DoD RMF, CMMC, DFARS, and FedRAMP
