Senior Director, Technology Operations-fraud and Id Verification, Trust and Safety

This role leads the strategy and execution of fraud prevention and digital identity capabilities for a large platform, focusing on protecting platform integrity against evolving threats, regulatory expectations, and business growth. It involves defining a vision for identity and fraud prevention, managing platform and vendor strategy, establishing governance, and partnering with various teams to ensure coordinated controls and compliance. The role requires experience in regulated environments and a background in high-scale consumer platforms.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the end-to-end digital identity strategy, with a focus on scalability, adaptability, and dynamic risk mitigation.
  2. Define a vision for identity and fraud prevention that anticipates emerging threats (e.g. generative AI, synthetic identities, emulators, spoofing), regulatory changes, and platform growth.
  3. Lead platform and vendor strategy – including selection, performance oversight, cost optimization, and configuration. Guide decisions on the right blend of vendor tools and internal technologies that provide necessary capabilities to execute the strategy.
  4. Establish governance, operating rhythms, KPIs, and success metrics to continuously assess effectiveness and risk posture.
  5. Partner closely with Engineering, Product, Security, and Asset Protection to align digital and physical risk strategies and ensure coordinated controls.

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years experience in trust, safety, risk management, fraud, identity, or similar domains.
  • 5+ years leading senior leaders or complex cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience with platform strategy and vendor governance.
  • Experience operating in regulated or highly controlled environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build durable programs that evolve over time rather than point-in-time solutions.
  • Familiarity with modern identity validation techniques (e.g., digital IDs, adaptive identity, risk-based decisioning, signal orchestration) and challenges.
  • Background in e-commerce, retail, gig-economy, or high-scale consumer platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business,information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or related area and 7 years’ experience inproject management, program management, program operations, or related area.
  • 9 years’ experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
  • 4 years’ supervisory experience.
