Senior Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer

Seeking a Senior Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer for Boeing Commercial Aircraft engineering global team in Brazil. The role involves supporting aircraft certification by demonstrating compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. Responsibilities include developing and validating requirements for systems and components, evaluating electromagnetic requirements, integrating complex systems, performing trade studies, defining and conducting tests, providing lifecycle support, and contributing to proposals. Requires existing rights to work in Brazil, a relevant engineering degree, English fluency, CREA registration, and in-depth experience on aircraft development programs and electromagnetic effects.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develops and validates requirements for various communication, sensor, electronic equipment and other electromagnetic related systems and components.
  2. Develops and evaluates electromagnetic requirements for electrical\electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structures.
  3. Develops architectures to integrate complex systems and components into higher level systems and platforms. Performs trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements.
  4. Defines and conducts tests to validate performance of designs to requirements. Manages appropriate aspects of supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements.
  5. Provides support to products throughout their lifecycle from manufacturing to customer use by providing guidance and support to resolve complex issues.

Skills

Required

  • Existing rights to work in Brazil
  • Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering
  • Fluent in written and verbal English
  • Registered or eligible to register with CREA
  • In-depth experience on aircraft development programs
  • In-depth experience with electromagnetic effects on aircraft

Nice to have

  • FAA Compliance Verification Engineer experience
  • FAA regulatory and airworthiness requirements experience
  • FAA Part 21 Design Organization experience
  • Experience with electrical systems including connectivity, antennae, electric loads
  • Experience with electronic equipment qualification per DO-160 and/or ARP5583A, ARP5415B, ARP60493
  • Experience in requirements management per ARP4754A or similar
  • Experience with Safety management per ARP4761
  • Experience with environmental effects related to magnetic threats (HIRF, lightning, precipitation static)
