Senior Flight Controls Engineer

Seeking a Senior Flight Controls Engineer to design, analyze, test, and certify flight control systems for commercial aircraft, supporting production and fleet operations, and preparing for advanced flight control technologies. Responsibilities include system validation, architecture development, trade studies, requirement verification, issue resolution, certification activities, and cross-functional coordination.

What you'd actually do

  1. Plan and execute system- and component-level validation activities including:
  2. Develop system and subsystem architecture alternatives for primary flight control laws functions to meet requirements and objectives
  3. Analyze and compare alternatives (trade study) to rapidly converge on preferred configurations including defining and executing system simulations and development test programs.
  4. Verify flight control requirements through simulation and analytical methods.
  5. Resolve airplane level requirements into system level requirements and resolve system level requirements into functional requirements with time and cost-efficient validation methods

Required

  • existing rights to work in Brazil
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering
  • registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA)
  • Proficient verbal and written English communication skills

  • In depth experience with modeling and control systems
  • In depth experience with system monitoring design and signal input processing

  • In depth experience with certification process for aeronautical products
  • Knowledge in modeling with Matlab/Simulink
  • Knowledge in flight mechanics
  • Knowledge in programming language (Python or C++)
  • Knowledge in requirement management tools (IBM Rational DOORS)
  • Knowledge in version control and storage (GIT/SVN or equivalent)
