Senior M&a Finance Manager

Autodesk's M&A Finance team is seeking a Senior Program Manager, M&A Finance to support the full M&A lifecycle from diligence and transaction planning through close, integration, and post-close value realization. This role will partner closely with FP&A, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, Corporate Development, Legal, HR, IT, business teams, and more Finance and cross-functional teams to assess transactions, support decision-making, and execute finance workstreams across acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will bring strong financial acumen, sound business judgment, strategic perspective, superior business partnering, AI and process excellence mindset, and the ability to lead and simplify cross-functional efforts in a fast-paced environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead finance workstreams across the full M&A lifecycle, including diligence, deal planning, close readiness, Day 1 execution, and post-close integration
  2. Partner with finance sub-functions and cross-functional M&A stakeholders to assess risks and opportunities, support transaction recommendations, and drive execution planning
  3. Lead finance diligence activities, including analysis of historical and projected financial performance, operating metrics, cash flow, working capital, and key transaction assumptions
  4. Review transaction materials and agreements to provide finance input on deal structure, financial risks, and key provisions
  5. Synthesize diligence findings, financial risks, and integration considerations into clear recommendations and decision-ready materials for leadership

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
  • 9+ years of relevant experience in M&A finance, transaction advisory, strategic finance, corporate finance, FP&A, and/or finance integration
  • Demonstrated experience supporting transactions through financial diligence, modeling, close, and post-close integration
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear recommendations
  • Experience leading across cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, workstreams, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end finance processes, including Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, FP&A, Treasury, Payroll, and Tax
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing materials for senior leaders and executive stakeholders
  • Proven ability to drive alignment, manage ambiguity, drive accountability, and deliver results in a matrixed organization
  • Strong program and project management skills, including planning, milestone tracking, risk management, and issue resolution
  • High degree of business judgment, attention to detail, and ownership

Nice to have

  • MBA, CPA, or other advanced finance or accounting credentials
  • Experience in the technology or SaaS industry
  • Experience supporting software, cloud, or subscription-based business models
  • Familiarity with valuation concepts and transaction metrics, including synergy analysis, cash flow assessment, and key deal performance indicators
  • Experience supporting finance integration in acquisitions, divestitures, or complex business transformations
  • Experience with enterprise finance systems and reporting tools
  • Continuous improvement mindset with experience enhancing finance processes, governance, and operating models
