Senior Storyteller: AI & Innovation

Amplitude Amplitude · Data AI · San Francisco, CA · Corporate Marketing

This role is for a Senior Storyteller focused on AI and Innovation at Amplitude, an AI analytics platform. The primary responsibility is to craft compelling narratives across various formats (press pitches, op-eds, product launches, social media) to communicate the company's AI advancements and product innovations. The role involves supporting press and executive communications, driving content for product updates, and understanding content distribution. The ideal candidate is a strong writer with PR, journalism, or communications experience, curious about technology (especially AI), and actively uses AI tools in their workflow.

What you'd actually do

  1. Write exceptional content across formats and topics. Press pitches, op-ed drafts, executive LinkedIn posts, product launch narratives, talking points, reactive commentary. You'll develop fluency in Amplitude's voice and apply it across whatever the moment requires.
  2. Support and shape Amplitude's press relationships. Build genuine connections with journalists covering AI, enterprise tech, and analytics. Know what makes a story worth pitching and when to walk away from one that isn't.
  3. Support the exec comms program. Partner closely with senior leaders to craft clear POVs on AI and the future of analytics. Turn those into media, social, and other moments that feel human, distinctive, and repeatable.
  4. Own your beat at the daily editorial standup. The newsroom team responds to what's happening in the market in real time. You'll monitor what's being published and discussed, flag relevant moments, and arrive with angles rather than questions.
  5. Drive integrated content for product updates. Whether we ship something incremental or monumental, the storytelling team is on point to share the news — as a blog post, social package, or press pitch. You will be a primary contributor to that process.
