Senior, Value Added Tax

This role focuses on advising multinational companies on indirect tax implications, managing VAT/GST, and integrating tax planning into business strategy. It involves leveraging technology solutions for compliance and process improvements within a global tax services practice.

What you'd actually do

  1. Advise U.S. and foreign multinational companies on the indirect tax implications of their international operations.
  2. Work with VAT/GST and other similar transaction-based taxes.
  3. Work directly with clients and liaise with indirect tax colleagues in Deloitte’s global member firm network.
  4. Help integrate indirect tax planning into our client’s overall business strategy, helping them comply with complex international indirect tax requirements in connection with, for example, a merger or acquisition, a global ERP implementation, maintaining compliance with multi-jurisdictional business transactions, or streamlining a multinational supply chain.
  5. Help clients reduce costs and manage tax compliance risk while increasing confidence that nothing has been missed.

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of experience working in indirect tax, preferably working with multinational companies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other business-related field
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • One of the following active accreditations obtained, in process, or willing able to obtain

Nice to have

  • Previous Big 4 experience, public accounting or consulting experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical abilities
  • An advanced degree such as MST, JD, or LLM
  • Experience in supply chain restructuring, data analytics, or compliance
  • In-depth indirect tax background in one or more jurisdictions with first-hand experience applying indirect tax knowledge in a range of industries
