Solutions Engineer

Algolia is seeking a Solutions Engineer to join their go-to-market organization. This role will work closely with Sales and Solutions partners to drive revenue and customer adoption of Algolia's AI Search platform. Responsibilities include understanding customer goals, assisting in the sales process, developing custom search applications, and advocating for customer needs internally. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of customer-facing technical experience in SaaS, with software development experience and strong communication skills. Familiarity with agentic AI systems is a plus.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work with Sales Teams and prospects on their evaluation and adoption of Algolia solutions
  2. Understand and qualify customer goals with KPIs and effectively articulate Algolia’s ability to meet them
  3. Assist in the Sales process including discovery, demo, Proofs of Concept (POC), RFP responses & business justification
  4. Develop custom search applications leveraging the tools, frameworks, and partners of the Algolia ecosystem.
  5. Distill and advocate customer interests, needs and product feedback in order to relay to Product and Engineering teams

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years experience in a customer-facing technical role (SE, SA, consultant, PM)
  • Previous software development experience in one or more of the following areas: Front End: JavaScript, TypeScript, React; Back-End: Java, Ruby, Go, Node, Python, Swift/Objective-C
  • Experience with data formats and data transformation
  • Great oral and written communication skills
  • Superior organisational skills working with multiple customers and have the ability to switch context quickly throughout the day with various competing demands and attention to detail
  • Experience at our current stage and beyond ($150-300M+ ARR range, high growth, lots of change and building internal infrastructure)

Nice to have

  • Additional European languages such as Italian, Spanish or German
  • A background in the search industry or e-commerce
  • Specific knowledge in frameworks Magento, Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, commercetools and alike
  • Familiarity with emerging concepts in agentic AI systems (e.g., autonomous reasoning, tool use, or multi-agent orchestration).
  • Knowledge in Analytics, SEO
