What you'd actually do

  1. Partner with internal and external business partners to expedite payment processing on aging receivables.
  2. Process daily cash applications and bank statement reconciliation, including processing of non-AR transactions like interest and bank fees within the cash management system.
  3. Closely track and follow up on delinquent, rejected, and short paid receivables, as well as open and unapplied credits and payments.
  4. Process approved credit memos.
  5. Maintain receivable aging report with up to date notation and analysis.

Skills

Required

  • 6+ years of accounts receivable experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, queries/macros, pivot tables, etc.)
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively across departments
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines

Nice to have

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 2+ years of government accounting experience including Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and FAR
  • Experience with financial accounting systems (Oracle Fusion preferred)
