Sr Analyst, Business Systems

This role is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting user stories for applications supporting Commissions business channels. It involves facilitating communication between business units and solution providers, assessing system impacts, and providing technical assistance for system and product development. The position requires strong analytical skills, SQL proficiency, and the ability to manage business analysis tasks and deliverables.

What you'd actually do

  1. Fosters business knowledge and understanding among business systems analysts and project stakeholders. Brokers consensus among stakeholders with conflicting needs.
  2. Elicits and evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, decomposes high-level information into details, abstracts up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requests.
  3. Facilitates requirement sessions with stakeholders and creates comprehensive work products documenting requirements, including validation and traceability of requests. Has understanding on how projects align to broader organizational goals and business benefit.
  4. Provides SME leadership and consulting support on complex tasks. Initiate and execute initiatives to improve the processes, procedures, and tools utilized by the team. Reviews deliverables and provides input for other analysts. Strong understanding of all Commissions channels.
  5. Creates and determines modeling approach to represent requirement information in graphical forms that augment textual representation.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of related work experience OR Advanced degree with 3 years of related experience
  • Quantitative discipline
  • Critical thinking skills with a view toward process automation, evaluation and/or enhancement.
  • Advanced knowledge of utilizing and writing SQL queries using output/results for executive level presentations.
  • Communication - Ability to provide written or verbal details for potential issues and their solutions. Ability to create presentations for both verbal and written communications. Executive summaries.
