What you'd actually do

  1. Step into an early-stage team that is partly in place and help shape, grow and scale
  2. Lead code reviews, architecture discussions and operational readiness reviews
  3. Define and drive the technical direction for significant components of our next-generation cloud architecture, collaborating with our most senior technologists
  4. Partner closely with desktop agent and AI teams
  5. Own and deliver large-scale, cross-functional engineering projects — from technical and architecture planning through to execution and accountability

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of experience managing engineers, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
  • Hands-on experience building and operating high-volume, highly resilient Tier-1 cloud services and systems
  • Strong knowledge of Go, Java or similar technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to own and deliver large, complex engineering projects across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Proven ability to operate with ambiguity and make sound technical decisions with limited information
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for what your team builds and ships
  • Experience driving technical decisions and alignment across groups with competing priorities
  • Ability to communicate complex technical ideas in writing and verbally

Nice to have

  • Experience managing machine learning (ML) or data engineering teams
  • Experience scaling and developing an early-stage engineering team, building on an existing foundation rather than starting from zero
