This role is for a Sr. Manager, Field Engineering focused on Databricks' Lakebase product. The manager will lead a team of pre-sales Solutions Architects, engaging with strategic accounts to drive adoption and consumption of Lakebase. The role requires deep technical expertise in transactional databases (OLTP) and modern data architectures, including AI-native applications, and involves partnering with sales, product, and engineering teams. The primary focus is on pre-sales support and customer engagement to ensure value realization and growth.

What you'd actually do

  1. Hire and manage a team of technical pre-sales Solutions Architects focused on Lakebase.
  2. Support our growing Lakebase business, focusing on customer value and enabling your SA team to drive technical adoption and consumption.
  3. Create trust-based, long-term customer relationships and deeply understand transactional databases (OLTP), along with data platform, data warehousing (OLAP), AI, app development and cloud market landscapes and trends, reporting on the forces that shift the strategic direction of accounts.
  4. Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to translate customer feedback, technical requirements, and competitive insights into field readiness and product evolution.
  5. Build Databricks’ Lakebase brand across the market in partnership with Marketing, Product, and Sales teams.
