Robinhood is seeking a Sr. Markets Reporter to join their Sherwood Media team. This role involves covering daily financial news, reporting on market-moving events, and delivering both short-form and long-form content to Robinhood traders and readers. The ideal candidate will be adept at monitoring multiple sources, identifying impactful events, and explaining market developments clearly and accurately. Responsibilities include reporting on earnings, monitoring breaking news, collaborating with editors, and experimenting with new content strategies.

What you'd actually do

  1. As part of the Sherwood Media team, you’ll be on the pulse of the daily financial news cycle and be expected to report about earnings and news that is moving individual equities, sectors, or the broader market, both in short-form, quick turnaround posts as well as longer, deeper reported pieces
  2. Constantly monitor various sources of breaking news and stock market data to discover market news, write headlines for banners, and decide what level of reporting is needed
  3. You'll work closely with editors and reporters to plan, pitch, develop, and fact-check stories, including keeping an active knowledge of the top companies of interest to Robinhood traders and ensuring coverage of key moments that will likely affect their stock, such as Apple’s WWDC, investor days, earnings, etc.
  4. We’ll lean on you to help share and execute experiments and initiatives, finding new, strategic ways to reach our audience within the Robinhood app
  5. You'll help ensure our news products span a balance of perspectives and topics, and uphold Sherwood’s editorial and ethics standards
