This role is for a Sr. Spclst, Research at Merck in Wellington, NZ, focusing on leading teams to deliver biological, immunological, and analytical projects for Animal Health product supply. What you'd actually do

  1. Oversee daily project execution, define scope and timelines, track milestones, manage budgets, and present updates to senior leadership.
  2. Coach BTS staff in project management, scientific problem‑solving (assay development, antigen/vaccine science), and continuous improvement practices.
  3. Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Production IPT, and external partners to ensure resource alignment and smooth implementation of new methods and vaccine processes.
  4. Build effective management systems, ensure documentation compliance (GDP), maintain audit readiness, and promote a zero‑overdue culture.
  5. Ensure hazards are managed, legal requirements met, audits completed, and staff trained to work safely.
