Datadog is seeking a Strategic Account Executive to target and close new business with large, strategic customers. The role focuses on understanding customer pain points in cloud environments and delivering Datadog solutions, emphasizing sales process, relationship building, negotiation, and forecasting accuracy within Fortune 1000 companies.

What you'd actually do

  1. Prospect into large Fortune 1000 companies while running an efficient sales process
  2. Maintain, build and own specific relationship maps for your territory including existing relationships and aspirational contacts
  3. Develop a deep comprehension of customer's business
  4. Negotiate favorable pricing and business terms with large commercial enterprises by selling value and ROI
  5. Handle existing customer expectations while expanding reach and depth into assigned territory

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years closing experience
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales goals
  • Ability to build pipeline independently
  • Experience selling to large enterprise clients (Fortune 1000)
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to travel to client sites

Nice to have

  • Experience in SaaS, IT infrastructure, or similar tech companies
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies (MEDDIC, Command of the Message)
