Joby Aviation is seeking a Systems Test Engineer to perform systems level testing in their Integrated Test Labs. This role involves writing and executing tests, analyzing data, and ensuring aircraft meet safety and performance standards for FAA certification. The position requires experience in lab environments, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.

What you'd actually do

  1. Write and execute system level verification testing in the integrated test labs (ITLs)
  2. Perform the responsibility of Pilot-in-the-Loop and Test Directors, and train others
  3. Improve Standard Operating Procedures and checklists
  4. Maintain configuration control of the ITLs’ hardware & software, as well as calibration records
  5. Drive Root Cause Corrective Actions with cross-functional Subject Matter Experts

Skills

Required

  • B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of work experience in relevant industry.
  • Experience running tests in a lab environment.
  • Experience with Instrumentation, Data Acquisition Systems and Sensors
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills

Nice to have

  • Experience with high-voltage power-electronics
  • Experience with LabVIEW and Veristand
  • Experience with industrial test laboratory environments, procedures and safety
  • Polarion requirements and test case documentation experienced a plus
  • Experience with aircraft certification (ARP 4754, DO-178), regulatory requirements, compliance testing, aircraft software engineering processes, and test verification.
