This role is for a Target Security Specialist at a Regional Distribution Center. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and secure work environment, executing physical security program, conducting patrols, managing truck gate operations, and responding to emergencies. The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and the ability to remain calm and respond quickly in crisis situations. Experience in security or loss prevention is preferred but not required.

What you'd actually do

  1. protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing, investigating, and resolving theft and fraud to ensure products are available for our guests.
  2. through best practices and physical security program execution.
  3. operate Target-owned vehicles to execute yard and perimeter patrol routines.
  4. follow emergency procedures and protocols in the event of emergencies, including incident notification to building leadership.
  5. follow best practices and procedures relating to truck gate operations and visitor management.

Skills

Required

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Ability to respond quickly and remain calm during crisis situations
  • Valid driver's license

  • Ability to work in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements
  • Ability to lift and carry merchandise weighing up to 60 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to operate technology systems with minimal direction after receiving training
  • Reliable and prompt attendance
  • Ability to be trained and act on de-escalation tactics
  • Ability to safely conduct internal and external patrols frequently throughout your shift
  • Ability to quickly and safely respond to security incidents in all locations on property
