What you'd actually do

  1. Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic initiatives for Australia Equities, defining scope, milestones, dependencies, and measurable outcomes
  2. Run delivery governance including integrated plans, critical path management, milestone tracking, RAID/decision logs, and escalation through closure of blockers
  3. Provide concise, high-quality senior stakeholder updates on progress, delivery health, key risks, and decisions required
  4. Ensure initiatives adhere to SDLC/ADLC, governance standards, and change management processes with a strong controls mindset
  5. Identify delivery and control risks early, provide independent challenge, and propose pragmatic, impact-weighted mitigation options

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years’ experience in financial services, with a blend of software engineering, technology delivery/project management, and technology controls exposure
  • Strong hands-on backend development experience in .NET/C# (Java/Python as additional experience), including REST/JSON APIs and service-to-service integrations
  • Proven experience leading delivery in complex cross-functional environments (planning, dependency management, risk management, stakeholder communications)
  • Strong understanding of SDLC/ADLC, secure coding practices, and testing strategy
  • Demonstrated experience operating within governance, risk, and control frameworks (change management, evidence capture, audit readiness)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical detail into clear status, risks, and decisions for senior stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple workstreams under time pressure
  • Experience with Agile tools and practices (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) and proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word; MS Project a plus)
  • Awareness of AI and emerging technologies, with interest and practical ability to apply AI-enabled tooling to improve delivery/engineering outcomes

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Australia Equity market products (Cash Equities; Futures/Options) and front-to-back operating processes
  • Experience delivering controls uplift, governance remediation, platform modernization, or operational risk reduction initiatives
  • Familiarity with data platforms, analytics tooling, and data quality/lineage concepts
