Autodesk is seeking a User Experience Designer for their Platform Data team, focusing on how customers access, manage, and derive value from data throughout project and asset lifecycles. The role involves designing APIs, services, and user interfaces for the Autodesk Data Platform ecosystem, supporting AEC industry workflows. The designer will collaborate with product management, engineering, user research, and design teams to create intuitive, scalable, and connected platform experiences. Responsibilities include designing workflows, wireframes, visual mockups, prototypes, participating in user research, applying user-centered design methods, contributing to design critiques, and ensuring consistency with Autodesk's design systems. The role requires 2-4 years of UX/interaction design experience, a portfolio, and familiarity with user-centered design principles. Preferred qualifications include experience with B2B/SaaS applications, AEC workflows, data-rich interfaces, and emerging AI-supported tools.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborate with product managers, engineers, researchers, and designers to support the delivery of thoughtful user experiences from concept to implementation
  2. Design workflows, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes that clearly communicate interaction and visual design ideas to stakeholders and development teams
  3. Participate in user research activities, including interviews, usability testing, and feedback sessions, to gain a deeper understanding of customer needs and workflows
  4. Apply user-centered design methods to solve complex workflow and data management challenges
  5. Contribute to design critiques, brainstorming sessions, workshops, and cross-functional collaboration activities

Skills

Required

  • 2-4 years of professional experience in user experience, interaction design, product design, or a related field
  • Experience designing digital products, workflows, or interfaces for web, desktop, or platform-based applications
  • Knowledge of user-centered design principles and common UX methodologies
  • Ability to create wireframes, user journeys, prototypes, and visual artifacts using industry-standard design tools
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
  • Interest in solving complex design challenges related to workflows and data management
  • Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Portfolio demonstrating UX and interaction design accomplishments

Nice to have

  • Experience designing B2B, SaaS, or technically complex applications
  • Familiarity with AEC workflows, BIM concepts, or Autodesk products such as Revit, AutoCAD, or Forma
  • Experience with data-rich interfaces, dashboards, or platform ecosystems
