RTX is seeking a Digital Technology (DT) Site Lead for their Carlsbad, California facility. This role focuses on advancing manufacturing maturity for Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) turbine components by managing Connected Factory applications, supporting digital twin initiatives, and ensuring smooth digital operations. The lead will be the main digital point of contact, responsible for the digital roadmap, IT enablement, technical systems management, vendor governance, and project execution. Responsibilities include leading the development and deployment of site-level digital capabilities, defining modernization strategies for legacy systems, developing a digital site roadmap, advising site leadership on digital strategy and investments, gathering business requirements, translating them into solution designs, establishing digital standards, governing digital processes, architecting shop floor system integration, monitoring application performance, and providing architectural oversight for site infrastructure. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field with 10+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 7+ years of experience, U.S. citizenship, and technical expertise in industrial networking, SCADA/HMI platforms, and software engineering in regulated manufacturing environments.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the development and deployment of site level digital capabilities in collaboration with the industry 4.0 and enterprise DT teams.
  2. Define and execute modernization strategies for legacy manufacturing systems, including platform migration, automation enablement, and software design to improve scalability, maintainability, and cybersecurity standards.
  3. Develop, maintain and advance a digital site roadmap.
  4. Serve as the primary digital advisor to site leadership, provide strategic updates, risk assessments, investment digital recommendations across PW sites, and performance metrics for site level digital initiatives.
  5. Architect and govern shop floor system integration, including HMI, SCADA, inspection technology, and machine connectivity platforms, ensuring secure OT/IT alignment and scalable data integration.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related degree with 10+ years of experience working in Digital Technology; OR an advanced degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related degree with 7+ years of experience working in Digital Technology.
  • Technical expertise with industrial networking, secure machine tool integration, VLAN segmentation, and OT/IT architecture design within manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in architecting and deploying SCADA/HMI platforms (WinCC, iFix, AVEVA, Ignition) including system design, security configuration, software development, and data integration.
  • Strong software engineering background with demonstrated experience in designing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and deploying production grade applications in .NET, LabVIEW, C/C++, Jython, and Python within regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Technical experience supporting digital systems in complex development manufacturing or aerospace environments with high compliance and operation.
