What you'd actually do

  1. Perform ME design, development, and documentation of components, subassemblies, and major end items
  2. Oversee small to mid-sized cross-functional engineering teams as the technical execution lead across all phases—from proposal generation and program initiation
  3. Serve as the technical focal point for mechanical or cross-functional teams
  4. Provide support for product integration with domestic and international factories and suppliers.
  5. Collaborate with engineering and non-engineering disciplines, and suppliers, to resolve technical challenges

Skills

Required

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Experience spanning concept development, detailed design, transition to production, and sustainment
  • Experience in mechanical design, material selection, and mfg processes
  • Experience in CAD design tools, ProE and CREO, including Large Assembly Management
  • Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related hardware systems field
  • Design and integration of electronic/shelter assemblies and power distribution equipment
  • Troubleshooting electromechanical systems
  • Experience with interconnects, cables, harnesses, and CNC
  • Proficiency in ASME Y14.5 GD&T
  • Structural design and analysis experience
  • Understanding of manufacturing systems and electromechanical production environments
  • Experience in cross-functional IPT collaboration and engineering risk/proposal management
  • Familiarity with EVM/EAC and willingness to travel (10%)
