Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Engineer Aeronautical / Engineer Aeronautical to support the Vehicle Engineering group. The role involves designing, developing, and testing aircraft parts, performing structural analysis, and ensuring conformity to specifications. This position requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant STEM field and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Designs, develops, and tests a variety of aircraft parts, taking into consideration the most efficient use of the natural laws affecting flight.
  2. Establishes structural specifications, performs stress analysis, and conducts performance tests.
  3. Perform design and analysis for primary and secondary structures.
  4. Review completed analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
  5. Evaluate as-built products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering or a similar STEM degree
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship

Nice to have

  • Overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher
  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience

  • Familiarity using Unigraphics NX or CATIA V5
