This role involves assisting with the disposition of withhold supplier tags and designing repairs for discrepant detail parts and assemblies made from composite materials. The engineer will interface with suppliers and various stakeholder groups like Structural Analysis, Materials & Processing, and Manufacturing personnel. The position requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. assist with the disposition of withhold supplier tags
  2. designing repairs for discrepant detail parts and assemblies fabricated from composite materials
  3. interfacing with multiple suppliers
  4. dispositioning of discrepant material tags
  5. interfacing with stakeholder groups such as Structural Analysis, Materials & Processing and Manufacturing personnel in the design center and build facilities

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or similar STEM degree
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Program Special access
  • Experience with designing repairs for discrepant detail parts and assemblies fabricated from composite materials

Nice to have

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution System, MES
  • Northrop Grumman MRB EN signature
  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience
  • Leadership & teamwork capabilities
  • Interpersonal communication skills
  • Hands on experience in a composites manufacturing facility

  • Current NGAS MRB buyoff authority. "EN"
