What you'd actually do

  1. Developing unit and module level requirements derived from system level requirements
  2. Circuit card design including hardware designs with processors, FPGAs, DDR memory, and industry interfaces, such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART.
  3. Performing analysis and testing of the FPGA, circuit card, module, and/or unit in a laboratory setting
  4. Guiding Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout and technical drawing creation.
  5. Performing design work within the bounds of a given schedule, and sometimes defining the schedule.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) degree.
  • Experience or coursework in one or more of the following areas: circuit design, digital electronics, lab course work, PCB design and signal integrity.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Printed Wiring Boards (PWB)
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and writing as well as thorough knowledge of all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA desired
