FPGA Electrical Engineer I role at RTX focused on designing and delivering production quality FPGA releases for weapon system products. What you'd actually do

  1. Design and deliver production quality FPGA releases from initial proof of concept up to production
  2. Work cooperatively with systems, hardware, software engineers, and program management to ensure product success
  3. Design and code in VHDL for reliability, maintainability, reviewability and reusability
  4. Verify designs utilizing self-checking techniques with directed and constrained random tests, while tracking functional and code coverage
  5. Create complete documentation including requirements, verification plan, user’s guides and configuration management.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Digital Design and HDL coding targeting configurable logic devices

Nice to have

  • Digital Design Knowledge & Radar/Image processing techniques
  • Experience in delivering FPGA solutions to system level applications
  • Experience in one or more brands of (Altera, Lattice, Microchip, AMD) FPGA devices and associated tools
  • Experience with integration and debug of electronics using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, etc.
  • Experience with FPGA timing constraints and timing closure
  • Experience with digital simulation such as Questa, RivieraPro or similar tools
  • Experience with Python or C programming
  • Image processing techniques for visual and infrared sensors
  • Gigabit serial interfaces and multi-gigabit transceivers (MGTs)
  • Experience with embedded processor and System on a Chip development for FPGA devices
  • Familiarity with the Linux environment and commands
  • FPGA design experience using a Linux-based development environment highly desired
  • Knowledge of git and GitHub
  • Knowledge of industry standard interfaces and protocols such as AXI, PCIe, SPI, I2C, etc.
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication
