Northrop Grumman is seeking Software Quality Engineers to develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems for software, test lab, and firmware products. Responsibilities include collaborating with engineering, verifying and validating products, designing inspection processes, reviewing software designs, auditing quality systems, participating in root cause analysis, and ensuring documentation compliance. The role may involve specialization in design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, reliability, or R&D. Experience with AS9100 QMS, software/systems requirements testing, and Agile development are preferred. A U.S. Government Secret security clearance and Special Access Program clearance are required to start.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems for software, test lab, and firmware products.
  2. Collaborate with engineering and test functions to ensure quality standards are in place and followed.
  3. Verify and validate software/firmware products and test equipment.
  4. Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conduct quality assurance tests; and perform statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
  5. Reviews software design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial/Industrial & Systems Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or related STEM field
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program clearance
  • U.S. citizenship

Nice to have

  • Experience in at least one coding language
  • Experience with AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Experience with software or systems requirements testing
  • Experience with Agile development
  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork experience
