Caterpillar is seeking a 2nd Shift Fabrications Production Manager in Sanford, NC. In this role, you will oversee and coordinate the activities of a more complex production line, prepares schedules, resolves issues, and ensures adherence to safety and quality standards.
What you can look forward to in this role:
- Monitoring and improving shop floor safety,
- Assuring fixtures, tooling and processes are followed to meet production scheduling.
- Determining priorities and sequencing jobs,
- Scheduling and prioritizing constrained resources and adjusting staffing to meet flow and customer requirements.
- Determining and executing disciplinary action when appropriate.
- Procuring and distributing production material to meet schedules.
- Ensuring preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule.
- Implementing Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Internal Certifications.
- Evaluating, assessing, identifying, and leading the deployment of workforce training.
A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:
- Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
- Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
Top Candidates for this position may also have:
- One or more year of manufacturing planning experience including in the areas of fabrications, logistics, assembly, or engineering.
- Three or more years of supervisor experience within manufacturing environment.
- A two-year degree in a manufacturing or business discipline
- Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers.

The primary location for this position is Boone Trail Sanford, NC.

Summary Pay Range:
$97,530.00 - $146,290.00
